There is no doubt that one of the factors behind the decline in the quality of education in Nigeria is indiscipline and flagrant disrespect for teachers. The ill of disrespecting anyone saddled with the responsibility of inculcating moral and academic values is mind-blowing.
Although some teachers are responsible for the disrespect they encounter, the majority of indiscipline noticed in schools are traceable to the decay in family values and poor parentage. Some are as a result of pair influence even though there are limitations to what a friend can make you do.
We all have our dreams to live up to but there has to be self-conviction to realise your full potential. Most life failures are caused by folks who have given up in life and are only there to discourage those who will aspire for greatness. Disrespecting teachers slows down your learning. It makes your knowledge valueless and could even tarnish your reputation for life. Students must strive to show maximum respect to their teachers as they are the custodians of their values.
